Fucini Beacon
Every device on the network announces itself — before anyone has given it an address.
Zero-configuration discovery for machines and embedded devices, in the spirit of mDNS: the moment a device has power and a link it announces who it is, on link-local addressing, with no DHCP server and no configured IP needed.
Its identity is the machine number where there is one and the MAC address otherwise, and the announcement carries whatever else is worth knowing at a glance — hardware type, software release, serial, role — so a service tool or a fleet console sees every attached device, and what it is, the moment it is plugged in.
Open source, with reference implementations for the FuciniLog Lite targets, so the same C99 core that logs from a device can also say what the device is.
