Fourteen days on any paid plan, no reason required — once per customer. Every install also gets a 14-day trial with everything unlocked before you pay anything; we would rather you use that than need this page.
You can ask for a refund within 14 days of any payment, and you do not have to say why. This applies to the first payment on a new subscription and to every renewal after it — a renewal you did not want or did not notice is exactly the kind of charge this exists for. One refund per customer: a subscription that has been refunded is not refunded a second time, and neither is a further subscription bought after a refund. The trial is there to decide before paying.
Use the "Manage billing" link on your subscription page, reply to the email you received when you paid, or contact us. Payments are handled by Paddle as our Merchant of Record, so the money goes back by the same method you paid with; how long it then takes to appear is up to your bank, not us.
A refunded payment ends the subscription it paid for, at once: it does not renew, its activation code issues no further keys, and on the team plans the seats already taken stop within a day. An individual Pro key never contacts us, so a key already on that machine runs on until its own expiry — the end of the period that was paid for, plus fourteen days. The VS Code extension then settles onto the free Community tier by itself, and the Visual Studio edition stops reading coverage: nothing is uninstalled, and no coverage data, history or settings are lost.
Commission on a refunded payment is voided — that payment only, never the months around it. The full terms are on the Referral Program page.
Your activation key is issued the moment payment completes, so this is digital content supplied immediately rather than something that arrives later. Consumers in the EU and the UK normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal on digital purchases, and agreeing to immediate supply at checkout is what ends it — Paddle, as Merchant of Record, is who asks for that agreement and whose buyer terms govern it. It changes nothing here: the fourteen days above are offered voluntarily on every paid plan, whether or not a statutory right still applies to you.
Paddle is the Merchant of Record for every sale, so its buyer terms apply alongside this policy. Nothing here reduces any right you already have by law, including the right of withdrawal that consumers in the EU and UK have for digital purchases. Where this policy and your statutory rights differ, the one that is better for you applies.
